Peru’s Catholic Church formally apologizes for Indigenous land dispossession

After years of allegations of land dispossession by the now-dissolved Catholic group Sodalitium Christianae Vitae, the highest ecclesiastical authorities in the Andean country held a symbolic reparation ceremony for the Indigenous people whose land was taken, kneeling before them and asking for forgiveness.
