Mozambique grants formal protection to Mount Mabu forest

Mozambique has created the 9,341-hectare Mount Mabu Community Conservation Area in the north, formally protecting a forest known for endemic wildlife and more than 200 butterfly taxa. Local communities that have kept it standing will lead stewardship; a management plan will outline detailed rules.
