NHS England is piloting a rapid genomic test for brain tumors that can identify cancer types during surgery, reducing waits for diagnosis from up to eight weeks to about two hours. Developed at the University of Nottingham, it will start in five specialist centers and may help some patients begin treatment or enter trials sooner.
