EU implements first systematic monitoring of PFAS in drinking water

Starting January 12, 2026, new EU regulations mandate harmonized monitoring of “forever chemicals” across all member states. The rules set a strict limit of 0.1 µg/L for a group of 20 PFAS and 0.5 µg/L for total PFAS levels. These measures ensure swift detection and public safety while strengthening the right to clean water.
