WHO maps risks to help prevent cancer before it appears

A comprehensive World Health Organization study across 185 countries reveals that nearly 40% of cancer cases are preventable through lifestyle changes. 7.1 million new cancer cases were linked to modifiable risk factors, including tobacco and alcohol use, obesity, air pollution, other environmental toxins, and various infections, representing 37.8% of the 18.7 million new cancer cases in 2022.
