A community clean-up on the Isles of Scilly has collected more than two tonnes of marine litter in 18 months, including 8,000 plastic bottles and 16,000 pieces of rope and netting. More than one tonne has been sent for recycling, reducing waste along a coastline exposed to debris carried by wind, tides, and shipping.
