Giraffes can do basic addition, a new study finds

In a study published in Scientific Reports, two of the four giraffes at the Barcelona Zoo consistently passed a carrot-counting test that required them to add quantities mentally and choose the larger result — outperforming horses, dogs, and zebrafish on similar tasks.
