A parrot unseen for a decade is spotted in an Indonesian forest

The Blue-Fronted Lorikeet — a small, lime-green parrot found only on the Indonesian island of Buru — has been rediscovered after more than a decade. A 14-day expedition in April reached the unexplored highlands of Mount Kapalatmada and spotted at least nine individuals, capturing the first known sound recordings of the species’ calls.
