China’s top court sets civil guidance on AI deepfake abuse

China’s Supreme People’s Court has told lower courts how to handle civil disputes involving AI deepfakes, voice cloning, sexualised content, doxing and digital privacy. The 24-article opinion gives judges a framework to protect identity, reputation and personal data as generative tools become easier to use.
