Kansas inmates help clear school lunch debt for local students

About 30 men incarcerated at Norton Correctional Facility donated $4,267 to Norton Community Schools, covering most of the district’s roughly $6,000 in unpaid lunch balances from 2025-26. The superintendent said several were motivated by childhood food insecurity.
