Women now outnumber men in India’s higher education system

India’s latest Women and Men report records a first: women’s Gross Enrollment Ratio in higher education has reached 30.2, above men’s 28.9. The change follows wider school parity, lower dropout rates and policies that expanded hostels, scholarships and flexible study routes for women across India.
