Nearly 50 bison reintroduced to Cuatrociénegas in 2025 are already changing the El Santuario Reserve, according to Fundación Pro Cuatrociénegas. Grazing, trampling and manure can improve soil, water infiltration and fire resilience, while cameras have recorded pumas, lynxes and collared peccaries returning.
