Lula’s re-election keeps Brazil’s Amazon protections in place

In a great voctory for the environment Brazil has voted to keep Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in office. ÇHis reelection comes after Amazon deforestation fell to its lowest level since monitoring began in 1988. Enforcement, satellite monitoring, and sanctions helped cut clearing by 42% in the past year.
