Cambodia has designated a 315-hectare wetland in Pursat province as a genetic conservation area for Siamese crocodiles. At least 40 are thought to live there, while releases, tagging and Chorng community patrols support one of the last wild populations of the critically endangered species in the Cardamom mountains.
