Helsinki bans fossil fuel ads in advance, from the earliest possible date

Helsinki’s city council has voted to restrict adverts for fossil fuels and other carbon-intensive products in city advertising spaces. Existing contracts run until 2035, so any ban may take years; officials will now assess legal, financial, environmental, and media impacts before the next contract period.
