Montenegro grants paid leave for diagnosed menstrual pain

Montenegro has amended its Health Insurance Law to allow women diagnosed with secondary dysmenorrhea to take two days of paid leave each month. The measure covers severe menstrual pain linked to conditions such as endometriosis or fibroids, though implementation and verification rules have not yet been detailed.

Data analyst Jeff Asher, drawing on figures from 600 police agencies, found murders fell 18.7% in the first four months of 2026 versus the same period in 2025, which itself was already the lowest year on record.
