NOAA says olive ridley turtles laid eggs at Seal Beach and Huntington Beach in California, the first recorded natural nesting by any sea turtle species on the US West Coast. Authorities fenced both sites while incubation, usually 45 to 60 days, begins; tides, storms and beach activity remain risks for the eggs.
