Spain advances bill to cut the working week to 37.5 hours

Spain’s government has approved a bill to reduce the official working week from 40 to 37.5 hours, sending it to parliament. If passed, the change would cover 12.5 million private-sector workers, especially in retail, manufacturing, hospitality and construction, though support from smaller parties remains uncertain.
