At Vergenoegd Low Wine Estate near Stellenbosch, about 890 Indian Runner ducks help control aphids, worms and snails in the vineyards, reducing reliance on pesticides. Nearby farms are now copying this 40-year practice as they explore regenerative methods to protect soil and biodiversity.
